Sex Offenders Free To Roam Without A Home

We all know about the sex offender registry where we can check on the perverts in our area. Convicted sex offenders are required to register with police and are usually prohibited from living near areas where children gather. How would you like to check the registry to find sex offenders registered as living “in the woods”, or “under a bridge”, or “transient”? That’s how numerous sex offenders are registering because they actually live in prohibited areas.

The System Is A Joke

Many states allow sex offenders to register as “homeless” as long as they stay in touch with authorities. That’s like taking Bill Clinton’s word that he won’t go near the cigar box. Being registered as homeless or transient allows these predators the freedom to roam around schools, parks, daycares, or even your house because the authorities don’t have any real way to track them.

Pity For The Criminal

Then there are the sob stories about how these people can’t get jobs, apartments, or homes because a background check reveals their evil deeds. Well bleeding hearts of the world unite! You think your life sucks? What about the women and children whose lives you destroyed? Think about them before you get on camera with the local news crying about having to sleep in your car or not being allowed to hang out in the local park ( and that was your favorite pick-up spot!).

Brainwavers’ Method Of Tracking Sex Offenders

Depending on severity, sex crimes should have a minimum sentence of life in prison (I’m talking about the real kind of life, like ’til death) and a maximum sentence of death by hanging. I promise that we would be able to track 100% of sex offenders . Put the word out. Make people afraid to commit crimes. If the judicial system keeps slapping them on the wrist and turning them out to strike again nothing will change.

  1. The sex offender registry is not working. Registered sex offenders are registering as living under bridges and homeless because they are.
Sexoffender treatment does work. There is a good reason why the recidivism rate for sex offenders are lower than any other offence but murder. And murderers rarely get out of prison. Look up the statistics with the Department of Justice.
Any other criminal can do their time and get out of prison allowed a second chance. Yet with sex offences those caught urinating in public or consenual teen age sex offenders are are on this list for 25 yrs to life.
Get your facts straight before you spew your hate.
Victims of sex offenders are not “ruined for life”, I know because I am a victim and have put it behind me. Also 90% of sex offences happens with a family member or close family friend, how could a registry have helped there. Also most offences are new offences by someone not on any registry.

  2. First, I am not spewing hate. I am spewing concern for a legal system that holds everyone responsible for crimes except for the criminal. This article deals with sex crimes, but I feel that the justice system as a whole has failed us. If people were actually punished for their crimes it would serve as a deterrent for other would be criminals. Just do an internet search for “repeat sexual offenders” ,or to get to the heart of my view just search “Megan Kanka”. It seems that each time I see a news story about a child who has been kidnapped, raped and murdered it turns out that the criminal has served time for earlier sex crimes. I’m glad that you were able to deal with your experience, but unlike you Megan was not able to put it behind her.
